HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!!
We headed out early on Friday to go camping at our favorite place - Handtroller's Cove, on Shelter Island. We didn't have the cabin this time, but tents worked just fine! We spent some time on the beach playing around while Andrew took a nap. . .
Caitlin was collecting and throwing rocks in the water. . .
Mark tried to catch a fish. . .
Danelle and I hung out on the raft. . .
Sista's
Oh the goofy side comes out!

We also made s'mores!
Caitlin starts with a marshmallow, then likes just the graham cracker, then a piece of chocolate. Each one at a time :)
Helping Mom roast the marshmallows~
The Coho's and Pinks are running pretty strong this time of the year so we headed out to catch some fish.
We woke up bright and early and headed out- after a late night and early morning we were pretty silly on the boat. Plus it was tight on space because we had all the camping gear on the boat with us.

Nellie driving the boat :)We went all over - we fished, we pulled the shrimp pots and then pulled our King Crab pot. There were no crab so we decided to head elsewhere and give another place a shot. They opened the King Crab season in Juneau for just a few days - it started the 1st and ends the 5th. After dropping the pot in a new location, we headed down the bread line to see if we could catch a few more fish.
And then it struck! The fight was on for Danelle - this picture really doesn't due her justice! She was fighting this fish really hard!
Her first KING SALMON!!
We headed downtown to the 4th of July Parade today. It was a bit rainy but not too bad.
Caitlin enjoyed everything (with exception to the fire the came out of a cars exhaust pipes and a giant mascot doctor :)) She really enjoyed the candy!
Hanging out on Egan (that's our highway!)
Since the King Crab season is so short we figured we should head out and check our pots to see if we got any, if not we wanted to move our pot. Oh boy did we get some!
There were 10 total King Crabs in our pot!
We got to pick the two biggest keepers!

Our keepers!
Andrew's first time around King Crabs! Unfortunately Caitlin was asleep when we got home so she didn't get to see them prior to being cooked. . . she did get to see the legs during dinner and kept wanting to shake the king crabs leg like you'd shake hands when meeting someone :)
