Danelle's Here! (Weekend #1)

My sister Danelle has come to visit us for awhile - so we are giving her a true Alaskan experience. She got into town on Thursday, June 24 - which happened to also be Mark's 29th birthday party! We had our friends over to visit and she got to meet a few of them :) Friday I had to work but as soon as I got off of work we headed out to the end of the road to camp. We didn't actually go out to the very end but it was pretty close. After carrying our gear down a very large and steep hill we were set . . .
Auntie Danelle and Mandrew Danelle's attempt to keep warm - long johns on backwards :)Our little campsite :)We had an amazing show from the whales, they were breaching hundreds of times across the cove! It went on for a long time and this was my try at taking a picture!

It was crazy to see that many whales breaching over and over.
Chillin around the campfire. . .
Cheese~ Mark brought the raft with the kicker to attempt fishing -
Little Miss Caitlin loves to help and be in on the action!Waiting for the big fish to bite!Mark also brought the crab pot and set it in the cove. Here is our lone catch of the day!
Dungee Crab!Dinner time with Daddy. . .
Oh look at those cheeks - just makes you want to squeeze them!
(I am speaking about Andrew's cheeks, not mine :))
Camping is interesting with a little one who just wants to crawl everywhere! The pack n play is pretty much out of the questions (except for sleeping) and when you put him down on a tarp/blanket he just crawls to the edge and eats dirt! Typical boy~ Mark and his fish!
After our camping trip Mark took Danelle out fishing! She caught and Irish Lord (rock fish). . . .
And her first pink salmon!!
They pulled the shrimp pots and got a huge octopus (and shrimp!)~
There was even a halibut fish in the mix as well!
And pulled up the dungee crab pots~ All in all it was a great day of fishing :)
Late on Saturday night after our camping trip Danelle and I headed downtown to the Only Fools Run at Midnight Run. This run is literally at Midnight :) It is a fund raiser for those with disabilities. We chose to do the 1 mile!

Before the run. . . . After the run! Last Sunday we tried to wear the kids out by taking them to the Twin Lakes Park. We made Caitlin walk the 1 mile walk around the Lakes to the park ;) Andrew is really mobile now. . . he loves to get around on his own! And Caitlin is getting very brave now. . . we always knew she was active but now when she sees another kid doing something she is bound and determined to do it too!
On the rock climbing wall!Well I have more pictures from this weekend so check back soon!
