Life On the Water - May 2011 (Part 1)

When May hits the Sanders' household it means it is time for fishing :)

May also means it is Spring and the weather can be very unpredictable :)

Take this day - Saturday, May 7th.

I was playing in a Co-ed Wood Bat softball tournament and Mark took the kids out fishing. . . the water was calm but it was a bit overcast. Lunch = PBJ = SMILES!Caitlin too!!Exhausted! Nap time in the bow of the boat.Brew was a tired puppy too!Well look at that - same day just a few hours later! The sun is shining down - it's amazing what can happen after you wake up from a nap :)Yes, we like the sunshine in Juneau!Me too!And then it happens! The line starts to zing. . . it's a whopper!!The kids just have to check it out :) See Caitlin's head. . . pretty close to that fish! Two days later (yes, that would be a Monday!) on an afternoon trip, Mark caught another King!

Caitlin was there to help him fillet the fish :)This was a nice picture of Brew on the boat - such a good puppy :)"What is that red, slimy glob?" you ask, that would be octopus! Still alive :) We catch them inadvertently in our shrimp pots. The octopus go after the shrimps too.
This is our friend Josh - check out that octopus! The prize, shrimps!!More beautiful weather mid May! I would have to say we live in an absolutely amazing and stunning place - we are so blessed to live here.Oh her favorite boat/camping food!! CHEETOS!At the end of May (Memorial Day Weekend) we headed to North Island with our friends Ty, Megan and Riley for our first official tent camping trip (on land). Strange as this may be, I only took pictures on the way out and not during our trip! I know someone took pictures. . . I'll just have to hunt them down :)

This is Eagle Beach from the water :)Camping - Here we come! Captain Mark and his Co-Pilot Mandrew~
Don't worry we do spend some time on land. . . I'll be back with more of May!
