We started our weekend on Friday~ I took the day off work and we hiked up the John Muir Trail (there is a cabin at the top). It was a long hike, about 6 miles round trip. I was very tired at the end of what we did! We didn't get to the cabin at the top but we were just about there. The last bit was covered in snow and ice. It was a little to much to bring Caitlin over ice and snow. But the view was awesome to say the least!

Caitlin and Dad below ready to go~
I'm ready too!
A little bit of wildlife along the way - this is a porcipine going up a tree (sorry about the spelling, I'm not quite sure?)
Happy Sanders' Girls
At this point we had decided not to proceed through the snow - we also weren't sure if Caitlin was asleep or not but the minute I tried to prop her head up, she was not happy! She only cried for a bit and eventually fell asleep going down the trail.
Such a beautiful view of the Mendenhall Valley and Downtown Juneau.
On Saturday morning we decided to go camping! We drove out the road just past Eagle Beach. We pitched our tent along side a little creek and right on the beach. It was our own private camping site! After we got the tent set up we put Caitlin on the air mattress - this is a picture of her below trying to figure out how to move on an air mattress! She wasn't much into taking naps - too much to see and too much going on.
Ready for some adventure!
Bouncing on Dad's lap - enjoying the sun.
Mark took Caitlin down to the little creek - she didn't stop starring at the water! She loves moving water - we aren't sure if it is the noise or the glimmer of the moving water.
In our rush to get out camping we forgot to bring the Pack and Play . . . so we tried a blanket on the ground. It worked for a little bit and then she found dirt . . . and wouldn't stay out of the dirt! So Caitlin was in the front pack quite a bit :)
We went down the beach a ways and Mark did a bit of casting for fish.
Caitlin and I played on the rocks.
This is a picture of a barnicle Mark found, it was huge!
She was on a mission to get the barnicle!
Dinner is served! Salmon with a little zest of lemon prepared by chef Mark!
Grandma Vicki came out to visit us while camping~
We spent a little more time relaxing in the sun on the beach before Caitlin's bed time.

Mark tried one more time to catch a fish at high tide - no luck this time, they just weren't biting.
Sunset
Caitlin went to bed at about 6:30 pm and slept soundly until 4:30 am. She then went back to sleep until 7 am, ate a bottle and fell back to sleep until 10 am. I think we wore her out! But I think this was a very successful camping trip! Especially since it was Caitlin's first, it was May 31st to June 1st & it was sunny!!Also on Friday night we went over to our friend's Louis and Angie's house for dinner. Their daughter Alexis and Caitlin are best buds.
Alexis got a rocking/bouncing horse and Caitlin got to try it! She loved it!
