Juneau Update

We are doing great up here. The weather has been so nice for us, we are hoping it lasts the whole summer. Most of the snow is gone, but there is patches here and there and the snow berm is still outside our house (it has shrunk quite a bit though!). Our days have been filled with work, fishing, softball and playing outside.
Here is Mark's 2nd spring king~For Mother's Day we relaxed, enjoyed brunch with our church members and then headed out to Eagle Beach. The tide was out really far while we were there and so there was lots of sand for Caitlin to play in.
Happy Mother's Day everyone!!Caitlin loved being able to run away and not have Dad or Mom there saying no!It was a beautiful day at the beach! On our way home this little guy was hanging out by the beach. It is a marmot (Mark calls them whistle pigs due to the noise they make). He was just hanging out in no rush to go anywhere! We have been working to get the vehicles all cleaned up now that the roads are in better shape. Mark brought the porsche over to spruce it up and Caitlin just adored it! She loved sitting in the drivers seat at the stearing wheel! No worries, we never had the keys in the car - but we are watching her in all vehicles so that in the future we don't have a Lacey accident!!Yesterday we took the boat out to fish and see if there were any crab. When we got to the crab pot it seemed really heavy to Mark . . . well it wasn't full of crab, it was attached to a log the lenght of the boat! It took Mark a while to get it untangled but he did get the pot re-set without the log!You can see the log and the pot right next to each other. . . . After that we headed out to fish along what is called the "breadline". Mark's line when off about an hour into it and he had a good fight with this fish. At first we weren't sure what it was, it wasn't a King or Coho Salmon and Mark thought it was a Steelhead. . . well after talking with a few people we think what it was is a Sockeye Salmon! The flesh was very red and it was such a silvery fish.Caitlin didn't mind touching the fish but she didn't want to get too close!Still not too sure about this fish!We did get to see some sealion action while out fishing. Two sealions decided to follow us along and give us a show! It seemed like there were a few times they were going to get stuck in our lines!! This is the best picture I could get. . . .they are so quick!!Hope all is well where ever you are! Take care and have a great week!
