December 2011 - Ho Ho Ho

Winter weather has been beautiful this year - everything from clear blue skies with near zero temperatures to light fluffy snow dumping for days. One weekend in early December, we took a walk out at Eagle Beach at high tide. It was the clear cold weather but absolutely beautiful and calm. This kids and Brew enjoyed some beach time.
Caitlin wanted to play "hide and seek" - can you find her??
Such an amazing place we live in!Adventure boy!
I love these smiles!!
Marching to her own beat~
Follow Dad - he knows where he is going!
I just had to comment on this picture -- this is a phase Caitlin went through. Every single smile she looks like a chipmunk with her lips tucked under! Silly girl! Thankfully she has passed this phase!
Caitlin and her Granny enjoying the sunshine!
Caitlin and I went on our first trip to the Nutcracker Ballet this winter. Her dance class at Juneau Dance Unlimited was putting on the professional performance and I thought it would be fun for her to see real ballet since she is taking dance classes. We both got all dressed up! She had a new outfit from her Auntie Tasha and was allowed to wear one of my necklaces - adorable! Before the show!
She did so wonderful during the show - she was very curious and asked a lot of questions. She also really wanted to go up on stage and dance. We had to talk about when she was 7 or 8 she would be able to join on stage. . . such a hard concept to be told your not old enough! She even came home with her very own nutcracker - brings back memories of Buddy and Guela's nutcracker at the old farmhouse! If I remember correctly, that nutcracker even worked:)
I loved this picture - she is sticking her leg out! I think she is growing up!!We made Christmas cookies! We had sugar cookies, peanut butter cups, peanut butter cookies, gingerbread cookies and many more. YUMMY!
We also received an early gift from Guela - our very own Little People Nativity set! The kids now have their very own set to play with~ Thank you Guela!!
Andrew liked the donkey, camel and cow.Setting it all up!
On a corner building in downtown Juneau, REACH puts up a huge display window each year for Christmas. They cover the windows up prior to the unveiling and every year is different! The kids had a blast pushing the train button this year - the train would start up with the push of a button on the outside of the window. There were a lot of little things to find in this scene- a roller coaster, the downtown Juneau storefronts, American Dolls skiing and tunnels.Standing in front of the window, next to the button!Pretty cool - hard to pull them away!More to come - check back soon!
