February 2012 - Snow, King Crabs and Birthdays

This blog is a bit of everything we've been up too . . . .
Mark has spring fever and headed out to the Mendenhall Glacier for a hike on the East Glacier Trail with Brew.
Everything was still a bit frozen and snowy~
But is sure is beautiful!
Talk about some blurry pictures - sorry it was all me!! We headed up to Eagle Crest to view a fireworks display they put on. The fireworks were pretty awesome and the kids LOVED them. But they also got pretty creative about sledding! This is a picture of Caitlin (in the pink coat) sledding on her bottom without an actual sled :)
Andrew was joining in the fun as well, but he enjoyed watching the snow machines more :)
I forgot how hard it was snowing while we were up there!
Juneau recently opened it's first Petco - the kids love to visit all the pets and dream about which ones we'll be bringing home. . . I'm not a fan of tarantulas or rats, sorry!
Mark found Brew a prize :)
The Department of Fish and Game also held a one week King Crab opener in Juneau :) Mark and his friends Neil and Ty were all over it.
Score!!

The other white meat!! KING CRAB!!
Score! It was like eating a candy bar :) I do enjoy a little bit of King Crab!
(We really need to work on not taking fuzzy pictures!!)
I think he's proud of this catch! It was also my 29th Birthday this month - my co-worker Kelly and her son Matt decorated my office! Complete with streamers, balloons, a party hat, and confetti!
The coolest birthday gift ever! Both of my kids struggle with blowing bubbles -- the bubble sticks get dropped and the bubble solution get spilled. Andrew received a really cool bubble kit for his birthday. They are a dog and elephant that you blow into and out come the bubbles. You dip the nose in a round, flat dish that holds just a little bit of solution.
They love it! It makes blowing bubbles, a breeze!
Hey Mom, I got this!
Andrew also received a really cool blow up structure complete with multi-colored balls :) This was his favorite place to watch movies and have a snack :)
