August Fun (August 2012)

The Friday evening after I returned from Chicago, we were invited to a Birthday Party at Auke Rec picnic area for our friends son. The kids had a blast 'playing and exploring on the beach.

This is Caitlin's friend Kiarra - she came and spent the night at our house shortly after the birthday party. This was a first for Caitlin - having a friend spend the night she is growing up!!) We also went to the movies and saw Ice Age: Continental Drift. It was cute but I am constantly disappointed with the previews. . . this was only Caitlin's second movie in a theater and both times had scary movies previewed. Next time we'll be showing up late.

We spent an evening at Melvin Park one Monday after school/work. Mark has Sea Dog meetings on Monday nights, so we have fun little outings of our own.

Andrew finally fit in his new converse that we bought in Spokane (in June)! He was so excited about them that he asked me to take a picture :)

One Tuesday in August I got a call from Mark to join him out fishing - just the two of us. I had already dropped the kids off at daycare so they were set - we loaded up and headed out. The sun came out so much we both had to change into shorts! Bonus -we caught 3 coho!! This was Mark's first.

And my coho! It was so nice to spend a little time on the boat just hanging out alone.
