November 2011 - Happy Birthday Caitlin & Andrew

November for us means two awesome kids are turning a year older! Caitlin's birthday is first on November 3rd, followed a week later by Andrew's birthday on November 10th. This year we opened a gift a few days early - it was American Doll Bitty Baby Twins for Caitlin and Andrew from Guela! Caitlin received the girl and Andrew the boy twin. We had a quick sit down lesson on being soft and loving with their new babies~ I think he has the hang of this!!There is a lot of love here! Hugs all around :)We also let Caitlin open her gifts from us, the aunts and uncles and grandparents on the actual day of her birthday. OH the EXCITEMENT!! Not sure why the hand keeps going in the air. . . maybe it's "It's my birthday!!"Paper dolls, stickers, clothes, books and so much more!Look at this little ham! An umbrella . . know to Caitlin as a "rainbrella"!Had to try it out - even if it was not raining but snowing! And snowpants! On Andrew's birthday we did the same thing, except Dad was home before us and put together Andrew's gift. A train set!Big sister shows the little brother how it works~ Ka-Chow is what Andrew calls Lightning McQueen off the movie Cars and he loves Mator! A dump truck! (Can you see the excitement on his face!! I love his expressions!)
And he's off! Zooming back and forth! He is all set for camping this summer - his very own sleeping bag!
This year we celebrated the kid's birthday together at the new Dimond Park Aquatic Center (our city's new pool). This place is perfect for birthdays - complete with a zero entry pool, lazy river, 2 slides and rooms you can rent. I unfortunately was so stinking busy with swimming and the kids, I only took 3, yes 3, pictures. So here ya go!

2 are of the food tables!

And 1 of Andrew enjoying his cupcake!
I'll do better next year, I promise!

The night of Andrew's birthday we went to the frozen yogurt place in town called The Udder Culture and treated the kids to some frozen yogurt. Then we let them ride those crazy rides that cost a quarter :) Caitlin was all over it!
Andrew, not so sure about it. I think the movement caught him off guard!
Caitlin found the next one just as enjoyable (Andrew opted not to ride it!)

Andrew and Caitlin's classrooms celebrated with cupcakes - I didn't get a picture of Caitlin's princess cupcakes but these were Andrew's "fish in the sea" cupcakes.
Caitlin's birthday cake was an Ariel Princess cupcake tower~

(In case your wondering, the blue represents water, pink with yellow dots are flowers and Ariel is sitting on a green seaweed covered rock. . . that was my interpretation!!)

Andrew's John Deere Tractor cake.

(The green and yellow stripes are rows of corn :) )

And Caitlin's birthday wouldn't be complete if we didn't take some time for a mani and pedi! New pink and sparkle nail polish from our friends Craig and Jennifer!

Yes, I am probably starting a habit that will last a lifetime. . . . especially in a habit that I really enjoy!!
Lastly, we had some major snowfall at the beginning of November - Caitlin, Andrew and Mark build some giant snowmen in our yard. Taller than Caitlin!Times 2~
